IT ALL STARTED WHEN…
Nick decided to pass on a tempting job offer from JP Morgan to make ski movies in the French Alps instead. He soon found another use for his degree in Applied Mathematics as he become a sought-after Flame Artist at top VFX companies in London and Los Angeles. As Piper amassed an impressive body of work featuring mind-bending effects, it didn’t take long before he was working digital mischief and directing too.
Piper’s genre-spanning body commercial work includes campaigns for high profile brands including Google, Goodyear, Johnson & Johnson, Travelers, The Home Depot and Budweiser, and a fleet of automobiles, including Hyundai, Chevy, GMC, Ford, Nissan, Cadillac and Toyota.
What ties all of his diverse work together?
Simply put, Piper brings a uniquely fresh point of view and sharp problem solving to everything he directs. It can be a great casting opportunity, an epic visual spectacle, a storytelling twist, or an intimate human moment. Nick’s favourite spots often combine of all of these filmmaking food groups.
Both scholarly and able-bodied, U.K.-born Piper studied applied mathematics at Oxford University while also boxing for the varsity team. He first broke into filmmaking Piper now spends his time traveling between Los Angeles and Paris with his wife and two children.
